Privacy
What we collect about you, why, where it is kept, and when it is deleted. Last updated: [TO FILL IN: date it goes live].
In short
- We collect only what we need to organise your trip, and we never sell it.
- 90 days after your trip ends, your name, email and phone number are deleted from that trip. What stays is anonymous: your guest code, what was paid, and a few details we use for statistics.
- You can see and correct your details in My desk, and delete your account there yourself (not while seats are held for you, or in the 90 days after a paid trip).
- We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and the site does not track you across other websites.
Who we are
SeekSetGo is operated by Nomgon Temuulen, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. We decide what happens to your details and are responsible for them. Questions about a booking, a payment or your data: travel@seeksetgo.com
What we collect, and why
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address | To log you in (we email you a code; there are no passwords) and to write to you about your trips. |
| Your name and phone number | To organise your trip and reach you before and during it. |
| An emergency contact and dietary needs (if you give them) | For your safety on the trip, and so the camps and families who host you can prepare meals. |
| Who is traveling on each seat: a name or nickname, gender, age and relation to you (age and relation are optional) | To plan rooms, gers and vehicles. Gender is needed once a seat is paid. |
| A country flag and a nickname, if you choose them | Shown to other travelers on the seat map and in the line for a trip, so a group can see who is coming. Your name is never shown to them. |
| Your bookings, add-ons and change requests | To run your trip and answer your requests. |
| Payments: amount, date, how you paid, the transaction code and the name on the payment | To confirm your seats, keep proper accounts and handle refunds. You pay on our payment provider's page; we never see or keep your card details. |
| Your guest code (SSG-…) | To find your account quickly when you write to us, for example on WhatsApp. It identifies you; it is not a password. |
| Your internet (IP) address and browser details when you ask for a login code or mark interest | To stop automated abuse and spam, and to keep a record when something goes wrong. |
For travelers from the European Union: we use your details because they are needed for the trip you book with us (your contract), because the law requires it (payment records), or because we have a legitimate need to keep the site safe (the abuse checks). The flag and nickname are your own choice.
Who sees it
- Our team, to organise your trip.
- The drivers, camps and families on your trip, once your seat is held or paid: your name, phone number and dietary needs, so they can host you. They see only the trips they work on.
- Services that run the site for us, which handle your details only on our instructions:
- Supabase — our database and logins. Stored in [TO FILL IN: region, e.g. "Singapore"].
- Resend — sends our emails, such as your login code.
- Cloudflare — the "are you a person?" check before a login code is sent; it sees your IP address and browser details.
- Netlify — hosts the website pages.
- Our payment provider, when you pay through their page, under their own privacy policy.
- We never sell your details or share them for advertising.
How long we keep it
- 90 days after your trip ends, we delete from that trip your name, email and phone number, the names of the people traveling on your booking, and your messages to us. This happens automatically.
- What we keep after that is anonymous and used for statistics only: your guest code, the amounts paid, the dates and seats, add-ons, and for each traveler the country flag, gender and dietary needs. Payment records keep the amount, date, method and transaction code, as accounting rules require; the name on the payment is deleted.
- Internet (IP) addresses are deleted after 90 days.
- Your account (your email login, profile and guest code) stays after a trip, so you can book again easily. It is deleted when you ask, or automatically:
- 7 days after it was made, if it was never used (the login code was never entered, or nothing was done with it);
- 1 year after your last visit, if you never travelled with us (only showed interest or asked for a trip);
- 2 years after your last trip and your last visit, if you travelled with us.
Your choices
- See and correct your details at any time in My desk.
- Delete your account in My desk, except while seats are held for you to pay, or until 90 days after a paid trip ends (we keep your details until then for the trip itself, refunds and questions; My desk shows the date). Seats you only showed interest in, and trip requests still waiting, are cancelled. Your name, email and phone number are then deleted everywhere; the anonymous statistics above stay.
- Ask for a copy of the details we hold about you, or ask us anything about them, at travel@seeksetgo.com. We answer within [TO FILL IN: e.g. 30] days.
- If you think we have handled your details wrongly, please tell us first. You can also complain to the data protection authority of your country.
Stored on your own device
Your browser keeps your login (so you stay logged in), and your choice of light or dark look and of currency. These stay on your device and are not used to track you. Logging out removes your login from the browser.
